The Easter Project

At the beginning of March (2023) I decided - after listening to a couple inspiring podcasts (listed below) and reflecting on my favorite things as a child, to try a printing project for 34 days leading up to Easter (my favorite holiday as a child) and create more of my own quilting weight fabrics to use for quilts. I started with a stack of 18x22” FQs and couldn’t overthink the selections. I had a couple that were my favorites and a couple I’ll probably never use. And then I could feel things start lighting up inside me and the darker colored fabrics weren’t giving me the results I wanted, so I shifted and started printing on white only. I’m so pleased with the freedom this project allowed me to experiment and leave perfection and planning out of the equation. I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere that I’ve been searching for, for too long.
